From November 2020 onwards, Renske Bouwer is an assistant professor in Language & Education at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. She is a multidisciplinary researcher, combining theories from the field of Educational Sciences, Psychology and Linguistics to improve writing education. In her research on the effectiveness of feedback for learning how to write, she mainly focuses on how teachers and and peers provide feedback on written texts and how and when students use feedback to revise their work. To unravel students’ feedback and revision processes, she uses online measures such as eye tracking and keystroke logging, which she combine with offline measures such as stimulated recall and text analyses.
