Dr. Kim Dirkx received her PhD in 2014 and worked as a teacher and assessment expert in higher education since then. From mid 2016 she combines her educational tasks with research in the field of assessment. Over the years she developed two lines of research focussing on the 1) design formative and summative tests based on retrieval practice and multimedia theories, and 2) uncovering how feedback modalities influence the content of and students’ reactions to feedback. In her research she makes use of both quantitative and qualitative research designs and triangualation of different methods such as eye- tracking, think-aloud and log data. Kim had received until now two grants from NRO and supervises several PhD and master students.
